BCU 2 Star
Posted by admin on September 16, 2010
BCU 2 Star – An improvement award and is your starting point that helps paddlers develop fundamental paddle sport skills on flat water. The emphasis is on gaining a breadth of experience, creating the desired movement of the boat and developing an understanding into how the paddle, boat and water interact. Although the strokes may not be technically perfect, they should move the boat in the intended manner. There is also appropriate time spent working in a open canoe.
This course is performed on sheltered waters, and is ultimately designed to get you moving in the right direction with your new paddling skills and to put the fun and confidence into paddling.
The current syllabus and guidance notes can be found on the BCU NA and BCU UK web sites. www.bcuna.com
Course Cost $150.00/pp

Greg Paquin has been involved with Downunder Kayaking since 2007, leading instructional classes for clients. Greg led a moonlight paddle to Sheffield Island, several weeknight classes, and regularly scheduled ½ day Sunday classes. All of his programs were very well received. Greg was particularly popular with participants in Kayak for a Cause – clients that were looking for a kayaking ‘edge’. To this day clients of mine wistfully remember his sculling technique, and wonder if they’ll ever be that good! Greg was a joy to work with and I look forward to seeing him again in 2009. - Kim - Downunder Kayaking
