NDK Romany Surf
Posted by admin on October 8, 2010
The ROMANY SURF, formally known as the Romany HV and the Poseidon, is designed as a day, play, short trip kayak for the larger paddler that wants that Romany performance. It has a wider keyhole cockpit than any other British made fiberglass sea kayak and has more volume in the rear to support the paddler’s extra weight and gear. The Romany HV has higher initial stability than the Romany, and with its flatter hull, it surfs even better…just ask Fiona Whitehead. The hull design offers maximum support and the shaped foredeck allows for larger feet.
Dimensions: 16’2” x 21.75”. Cockpit: 32´x 17.25”. Weight: 56 lbs standard

Greg Paquin has been involved with Downunder Kayaking since 2007, leading instructional classes for clients. Greg led a moonlight paddle to Sheffield Island, several weeknight classes, and regularly scheduled ½ day Sunday classes. All of his programs were very well received. Greg was particularly popular with participants in Kayak for a Cause – clients that were looking for a kayaking ‘edge’. To this day clients of mine wistfully remember his sculling technique, and wonder if they’ll ever be that good! Greg was a joy to work with and I look forward to seeing him again in 2009. - Kim - Downunder Kayaking
